Our First Anniversary

this is our oneth anniversary
who'da thunk [Eng. colloq.: "Who would have thought"]

i have learned that
spiritual life
depends upon releasing
what i have been clutching
maintaining and getting for myself
in order that i might receive
what god has prepared for me

my own greed and avarice
exists in certain areas
my recent experiences with "closure'
has taught me how to define them
and move through them

jesus said to give away all that you have
i better understand now what he was talking about

what are you clutching and hanging on to?
